Red Sox fans and ownership can breathe a sigh of relief as All-Star David Price will not require surgery to fix his ailing pitching elbow, manager John Farrell told reporters Friday.

Although the team is still awaiting the results of the MRI on his arm, Price will seek a second opinion from either Dr. James Andrews or Dr. Neal ElAttrache, two of sports' foremost orthopedic surgeons.

Now troubling news this morning that David Price, the 2012 American League Cy Young wnner, is dealing with elbow soreness.

Both doctors are now in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, giving the Red Sox and Price some logistical issues to work through.

The Next Chapter for 'Pokemon GO' Will Be Wearables Like Glasses
The fans can catch a new Pikachu and Niantic is already planning another huge " Pokemon GO " event. However, the Niantic chief insisted that Pokemon Go still sees a high number of daily users.

Price won't have to carry as many innings with Chris Sale now in the fold, but elbow injuries don't go away overnight. No surgery. No PRP or any injection of any kind.

"Any time you have someone like (Price), you're going to be cautious", said Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski. Price, 31, led the AL with 230 innings pitched and finished fourth with 228 strikeouts in 2016 - his first year with Boston. Price, entering the second of a seven-year, $217-million contract, has only been on the DL once, in 2013 with the Rays due to a triceps strain.

Red Sox manager, John Farrell, was heard earlier today telling MLB XM Radio that it is not unusual for Price to feel tenderness at this juncture of Spring Training.

Now, it appears the Red Sox will still enjoy a good bit of pitching depth.
