England captain Eoin Morgan blazed a fluent 107 to help secure a 45-run victory over West Indies in the first one-day global at a windy Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Friday.

With good support from Sam Billings (52) and Ben Stokes (55), with whom he added 67 and 110 for the third and fifth wicket respectively, Morgan powered England to 296 for 6. Both teams are coming off series losses, the West Indies failing to advance to the final of a three-nation tournament in Zimbabwe while England losing 2-1 to India.

"I also think that a lot of our global players - certainly the Chris Gayle generation - they would have started under Stanford (Stanford T20) but a lot of them developed and became, in my view, battle-hardened with leagues outside the Caribbean", he explained.

Despite that, the England batting order has some brutal hitting in it and is capable of running up a big score each time, with Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, Moeen Ali and Jos Butler leading the charge.

The all-rounder debuted for the Caribbean team in January 2004 in a Test match against South Africa at Cape Town and last played his global game against the United Arab Emirates in March 2015 in a One-Day worldwide (ODI) in Napier during the ICC World Cup.

While the pull shot was Morgan's release throughout, punishing anything short for the bulk of his 11 fours and two sixes, he was initially circumspect following the early scare.

Typical of England's ODI approach, as many as 56 runs came in the last five overs as the visitors ended their innings just short of the 300 mark.

The app added 36 million daily active users in the first half of past year - but just 15 million in the second half, says Sky. Even at his price target, he said it would trade at a "lofty" 11 times enterprise value to sales valuation multiple.

A pair of sixes, one each, off Gabriel in the 44th over brought up the 100 partnership, Stokes (55) going through to fifty before holing out in the next over to hand the wayward Devendra Bishoo (1-49) his only wicket.

That saw England's recovery checked on 96 for three in the 22nd over.

They registered a half-century stand off 27 deliveries before Morgan was run out at the non-striker's end in the final over. Kieran Powell failed in his comeback game, getting a leading edge to give Liam Plunkett a wicket in his first over.

Hope and Mohammed put on 69 for the fourth wicket.

Woakes then ensured there would be no repeat of Brathwaite's World T20 final heroics, having the all-rounder (12) caught, Root taking a skier at extra cover. The top-eight sides on the cut-off date - including the hosts England - will earn themselves an automatic qualification for the mega event while the bottom four will have to take the qualifying detour - a competition where as many as 10 teams will be bidding for the two remaining spots.

His first task will be to see that the West Indies qualify directly for the 2019 Cricket World Cup by virtue of their ICC ODI ranking.
