  • Pacquiao says next fight in UAE; Horn promoter says Australia

IT looks as if Jeff Horn isn't a lock as Manny Pacquiao's next opponent following a tweet yesterday in the Filipino boxing icon's official Twitter account.

Australian welterweight Jeff Horn's dream fight with Manny Pacquiao is up in the air with the legendary Filipino running a Twitter poll asking followers to choose his next opponent.

Horn was a clear last on seven per cent after more than 44,000 votes with Amir Khan (48 per cent) ahead of Brook (24 per cent) and Crawford (21 per cent).

Arum also has been negotiating with representatives from Duco Events, Horn's Australia-based promoter, to stage the fight at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, a rugby stadium that could accommodate more than 50,000 fans for boxing.

"See you in the USE for my next fight", Pacquiao posted prior to starting the poll.

The eight-time world champ turned Filipino senator asked his supporters who he should fight next and nearly half of the 11,000 respondents opted for the British former world champ Amir Khan, a Muslim of Pakistani descent.

"It's very confusing and frustrating", said Horn, according to the Courier-Mail. We don't even know if it's Pacquiao tweeting this stuff or if he's given control of his page to someone else.

Interceptor missile tested successfully
Developed by the USA and Japan, the SM-3 Block IIA aims to tackle medium- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Added to them, the interceptor missiles will be a great asset towards preserving the security of the nation.

A decision is due any moment as the supposed April date is coming around fast, and with Khan free to negotiate following the collapse of a United Kingdom super-fight with Brook, the one-time 140 pound king could now be in pole position to land the Pacquiao opportunity. No exact venue was listed for the April 23 fight, though the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi were listed as possibilities by Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz in a conversation last week.

"Duco have been working with Top Rank over the past three months to have the fight in Brisbane", said Duco Events head Dean Lonergan in an interview that came out on Fightnews.

Koncz, who claims he has reached an agreement with an Emirati tourism board, said he had told Arum not to talk to the media about staging the fight in Australia, but admitted controversy over where it would be held was "good publicity and what sells the sport".

"Manny Pacquiao is exclusively signed to a promotional contract with Bob Arum's company Top Rank, " he said, "and Bob Arum's people continue to tell me to keep working on the deal (for Brisbane) and get it done".

"All I can tell you is this: Top Rank is the exclusive promoter of Manny Pacquiao".

"It took us a while to get this deal together".
