  • Kansas State coach Bill Snyder is reportedly receiving treatment for a health issue. More

K-State athletic director John Currie said Snyder's health is of "the utmost importance" to school officials and he expressed the coach will receive "our full support" as he rehabilitates with an eye toward overseeing spring drills and leading the team into its September 2 season opener against Central in Manhattan, Kan.

"I have been diagnosed with throat cancer and have been receiving outpatient treatment at the KU Medical Center for about three weeks and am getting along very well", said Snyder, via KStateSports.

The full release from Kansas State Athletics can be found here. "The doctors and staffs at both KU Med and M.D. Anderson have been great; working so very well together to finalize the overall treatment plan which is being conducted in Kansas City".

Under Miller's watch, K-State has set 12 school passing records as a team, while K-State quarterbacks have put their names atop the record book in 46 categories. Kansas State opens spring practice on March 29. The 77-year-old coach won't let this affect his coaching duties, and passed along a statement to the K-State faithful.

DuPont to settle PFOA lawsuits for $670 million
The $670 million settlement amounts to approximately $191,000 per plaintiff, prior to any attorney fees or other litigation costs. DuPont and Chemours will each pay more than $335 million to settle the lawsuits, but neither company will admit any wrongdoing.

The school added that Snyder's doctors say that his progress is "excellent".

Following Snyder's retirement from K-State in 2005, Miller became the offensive coordinator at San Diego State from 2006-08 and returned to Kansas State when Snyder came out of retirement in 2009. As I've said so often, we came to Kansas State University because of the people, we stayed because of the people and we came back because of you, the people.

Speculation that Snyder might retire after the 2015 season grew to a point that a news release was issued in January 2016 that he was returning. In 1995, he left to serve as the head coach at Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State), before returning to K-State for a year.
